The Center for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology (CfNN), established in 2016 at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, brings together a number of research groups that study the physiological and pathological processes of the nervous system and muscle and develop of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for neurological, psychiatric and muscle diseases. CfNN activity is carried out in the research areas belonging to the Neurosciences in their broadest sense, being focused on matters of Translational, Cognitive and Social Neurosciences and Neurotechnologies.
The CfNN currently includes about 70 researchers and technicians, who operate in several research laboratories of the University Campus in Modena and the Palazzo Dossetti in Reggio Emilia, and the University Hospitals in Baggiovara and at the Policlinico of Modena.
The CfNN aims to strengthen the collaboration between basic research, clinical research, innovative biotechnologies in the field of Neurosciences thus representing an ideal environment for the exchange of top level expertise and scientific interests complementary to each other. In addition, the CfNN constitutes a highly qualified environment for students of the 3 levels of education. Finally, the CfNN has the primary objective to establish a dialogue between research and innovation produced in Modena and Reggio Emilia and citizenship, by promoting cultural and scientific dissemination events in the field of Neurosciences and joint activities with the Association of neurological and psychiatric patients.
